Hi! I'm Julie and I am the founder of Collective Pathways Counseling. I have worked as a Marriage & Family Therapist in community mental health and private settings since 2008. I provide individual, family, and couples counseling. I am trained in play therapy techniques and trauma focused care which was gained from working at Depelchin Children's center for over 13 years supporting abused and neglected children, and at-risk youth. I have specialized training in working with couples using EFT (Emotions Focused Therapy) as well as infidelity repair. I am happy to provide you with a safe space and support needed during high conflict and difficult times. I also have a huge passion for working with the AAPI community to provide healing and understanding for intergenerational trauma. Being a first-generation immigrant myself, I know the hardships of carrying that weight. Choosing to engage in counseling is a very courageous action and I am humbled to walk through the journey with you towards a healthy relationship with self and others. Outside of seeing clients, I also supervise MFT Associates and LPC Associates pursuing their post graduate clinical hours to obtain full licensure. You can read more about my supervision services here. I am married and a mother to 2 boys who keep my life very busy and exciting. I enjoy hiking and fishing, playing piano and guitar, and tending to my orchids in my downtime. You can ask me about my plants anytime! I also currently provide services at my other practice www.magnoliacounselingofpearland.com. If you have been directed here from my previous practice -Missouri City Family Counseling - Welcome!

Welcome to the beginning of a new chapter. I'm thrilled you've reached this point, and I hope to join you on this transformative journey. My background in coaching at various levels and playing softball at the University of Georgia has deeply influenced my counseling approach. By blending my love for sports with my passion for counseling, I aim to help individuals harness their resilience, tenacity, and inner strength to explore their identities more deeply. Whether you're facing trauma or seeking personal growth, I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents, individuals, and families. I specialize in Peak performance therapy, as well as supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem issues, and trauma. I firmly believe in the resilience of individuals and am dedicated to guiding them towards uncovering their internal strength for healing. In therapy, I prioritize a collaborative approach, putting you, the client, at the forefront of the process. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all model, I tailor treatment plans creatively to align with your values and interests. Drawing from solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT/MBCT), and family systems theories, I offer a comprehensive approach to therapy. Additionally, I am trained in using EMDR as an evidence-based treatment for trauma. I also incorporate art, creativity, and movement as tools for self-exploration, regulation, and expression. Outside of therapy, I find joy in witnessing others pursue their passion and succeed in the world of sports. I also treasure moments spent with family, immersing myself in nature, and admiring breathtaking sunsets.
